We want the best for our student-athletes and that should include gathering the best, most accurate data to guide our development as coaches.

-Stacia Jorgensen, Executive Director of Research

Creating survey questions that are neither double-barreled nor leading is a pulse-raising thrill.

But executing your own survey for your athletes isn’t the best idea.

We hear athletic directors talk about how they, their department, or some internal group in their organization administers their own surveys. After all, asking some questions can’t be that hard. Also, many freebie tools online help you send out surveys. And analysis? Everyone knows how to count, and data is just a bunch of numbers.

Two reasons to do your own survey:

1. It’s cheaper to do it on your own and

2. You have more independence to do whatever you want.
